Hello, my father-in-law is 47 years old and dying of pancreatic cancer. He was told there was nothing more they could do for him and sent home to die about 3 weeks ago. Yesterday his hospice nurse told my mother-in-law that his liver is now shutting down (failing). I was wondering how long will this take and if and when the other organs will follow suit? If anyone has prior experience, maybe how much longer does he have to suffer like this? They live 1500 miles away and when he passes we will have to pack-up and leave to be there. I know this is all up to God, but I would like a small idea of what to expect next and what will occur over the next few hours or days. If anyone can help I would greatly appreciate it. Thanks to all and God bless!!!

My mom said for 4 months now, she has been getting pain on her left side. Pain in her breast, under her breast bone, her ribs and even up to the shoulder area. All on the left side. She says this happens off and on, here and there. But over the weekend, she had the pains really bad where she almost had to go to the hospital, but she didn’t. She thought she could be having a heart attack but the pains subsided eventually. The doctor told her to take an aspirin. She said the pains calmed down and aren’t as bad, but she still has them. What does this sound like? She thinks it could be something where she has to see a gastrointerologist. She got an EKG a month ago and everything was fine. She is worried that she could have cancer. She said she knew a woman that had pancreatic cancer and she had all pains on the one side too. My mom got blood work done a month ago and everything was fine. Her cholesterol was a little high (250), but she is okay, Would any kind of cancer show in blood work by the levels being off? If they weren’t does that mean she is fine? Or would she have to get specifically tested for something like that?

my mom found out she has pancreatic cancer about 2 1/2 months ago.a week ago she had to do a ct scan and they think her cancer is going away.it is barely visible on her pancreas.she has gained about 40 lbs. since she was diagnosed and she has had only a couple of side-effects to her chemo.she is also on a trial drug.she doesn’t even look like she has cancer.her blood work is very good.her doctors are surprised at how good she seems to be doing.so does she sound like she is getting over her cancer?

Cutting a long story short, my grandad is in the last stages of pancreatic cancer. And as I live in a different country, I received a text this morning from my mum that said, “the end is near, he only has a few hours, have heard the death rattle”
I understand that he will die soon, but what does she mean by “heard the death rattle”?
