Hello,
My father died from Pancreatic Cancer in 2003. Since then my mother has been in real bad shape from depression but to add on to it she has started to aquire a persistent cough. She is a smoker as everyone in my family is. She told my brother a long time ago that she had Lung Cancer but then told him not to tell me. When I did find out she denied it and told us all that the doctors were mistaken. This week my whole family and I got into a big arguement. The next day my mothers boyfriend sat and talked to me and told me that I need to not argue anymore because my mom is sick. He said that she does have Lung Cancer but that she just does not want to tell me because she is scared how I am going to take it. He said that she has been going to treatment every tuesday and that they stopped chemo because they said that it was looking better and that she could start on pills now. I noticed that she does have alot of medication in the room. I asked her about it and she said that nothing was wrong. I feel as though I have the right to know if she is sick, I am not a child I am 22 and I think that I can take it. I just don’t know what to do about it. I am scared, I don’t want to lose my mom too, but she keeps on lying to me and I want to know the truth.

My father-in-law has been going through Chemo for liver, lung and pancreatic cancer. However, last night he was admitted to the hospital with a 102.5 fever and dry mouth. They said he was dehydrated and probably had a bladder infection. (Anything over 101 fever in a chemo patient, calls for an admission to the hospital.) However, he was also very disoriented and out of sorts. I am not in the state where my father-in-law is, so I don’t know that I am getting all the facts. Could anyone help explain to me why he may be disoriented and not being able to remember things with a simple bladder infection? I can’t find anything doing a search online. Thank you so much for your time!

I’m looking for information about hospice care for terminal lung cancer patients. I’d like to know about good hospices. Where are they? Which countries have good hospice/palliative care for lung cancer patients? Any specific facilities? Any help would be appreciated.

My mother in law has just found out she has lung cancer and a tumor in her lung. She will be getting surgery to remove the tumor tomorrow. What are the chances of everything being okay? Will she have to take radiation or chemotherapy afterwards? I would like to get input from anyone that has gone thru this experience. She is very scared and was a smoker for 22 years. Any information is more than welcome.

My friend had the top and part of the middle right lung removed on Jan 31, they are home from the hospital but still taking pain medication every 4 hours and still has shortness or breath. Can the cancer come back?
